Southmead Hospital Charity’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund
Our charity of the year for 2019 is Southmead Hospital Charity’s NICU fund, which was nominated by our Sales Support Team Leader, Louise Webber.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – is one of the areas at Southmead Hospital that the charity supports. The neonatal unit has a specialist team who provide intensive care, high dependency care, special care and transitional care for hundreds of babies each year who are born prematurely or with medical conditions that mean they need extra support. The unit is one of the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Units for the South Western Delivery Network.
Both of Louise’s sons were born prematurely; her first born Cameron, weighing 1lb 1oz and her second son Brandon, weighing 3lb 9oz. Louise Webber said, “Southmead Hospital Charity’s NICU fund is important to me, as both of my sons started their life in the unit. I have seen first-hand how fantastic the unit is, considering the constant strains and cuts the NHS is experiencing. I would love for National Friendly to really get behind this charity in 2019 and give even more local families the great care that my sons and I had.”
As members, staff and partners, you can make a direct donation or fundraise through this hub to help National Friendly achieve its fundraising target of £5,000 and help more patients in Bristol and the South West receive the very best possible care.
